🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂 Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories. 🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party. 🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal. 🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone: "Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you." "It's nice to see everyone. [Izuku isn't exactly a master at Shogi since it's been a while since he's had the time to sit down and play, though it makes him wonder what the version of Shogi Parsee is familiar with would be like.]

Well, Shogi is an old game...though I wouldn't think that the rules would have changed all that much. If a piece looks wrong, it might just be that Amamiya-san didn't make it clear enough, maybe?

[No offense of course, Ren, but having to make the pieces by hand was probably difficult.]

An old game, mmm... wonder what that makes me? [She chuckled softly.] It was still a fad when I was a young woman.

[Yep. That old.]

It think it's just the kanji changed. Only rule I ever heard I didn't understand was 'drops.' Capturing, turning pieces. They never did that when I used to play.

I was always a little more a 'go' person, I think. easier to set up, but I should be able to remember as you kick my butt. Just go easy.

[Wow...she really must have been around for a long time if the kanji used is what ended up changing. It's a little hard for Izuku to wrap his head around, even with his concept of other worlds.]

Don't worry, I'm not like...a master at Shogi or anything myself.

[Said as he moves to sit on the other side of the board, resting his hands on his knees.]

But at least if you beat me you'll still get bragging rights for winning.

I guess I would wouldn't I?

[Parsee Mental Note #212 since arriving here. Let the kid win. She was not letting herself get bragging rights over anything. That was always a recipe for disaster.]

Why don't you take the first move. I'll see how much I remember.

[Then the first move he will make! Whatever would be most logical for Shogi since I do not actually know how to play but shh it's fine]

[She made a near identical mirror move, starting to get a feel for each move as she went. Remembering the rules of the pieces was at least easy enough, thankfully.]

Ngh, so it is. So do you play this back home? I don't know if it's still popular.

I have before, but it's not really something I play often. I know there are still a lot of people out there who do, though.

[He makes his next move.]

It's not really a beginners game, is it?

Not really, no. I mean, the basics don't seem that hard, but it's the sort of game people like to show off that they know how to play well. [Tak. Nice and simple. Keep it simple.]

Masters are always so proud of themselves. Like go players and "Dan."

[Izuku pauses for a bit longer this time before he makes his move, smudging his thumb over his lips. He looks back up at Parsee after that.]

"Dan"?

A rank. 1-Dan, 2-Dan. I don't actually know what it means but it's the sort of thing some wanna be master would talk about crossing the bridge. Things people get proud of when they think they're good.

[She made a move pretty quick afterwards. No master, but she was picking up the flow of things. Strategy, however, was not her forte.]

[It's also a lot harder to talk and properly strategize, but Izuku isn't taking the game super seriously or anything. He is trying to play well though, so he'll stop talking just long enough to make his own move.]

Interesting...I guess you caught a lot of converations on your bridge like that.

You pick up things. People living their lives. Coming to the shrine, telling you all their problems with their relationships. One of my few marketable skills. I'm a good listener.

[Albeit, she was a really judgmental one too, but that as another matter entirely. She made a play, sort of half paying attention. This was a way to pass the time more than a serious game, but she was learning the rules again slowly.]

[Honestly, Izuku isn't expecting to win here, and even if he does he won't gloat. It's a nice way to pass the time, and plus he figured they'd have a conversation over it regardless. Parsee is an interesting individual, despite all of her brusqueness when they first met. Izuku wants to learn more about her, and her world.]

I guess that would be a good kind of place to go vent. Nice and quiet...peaceful.

yeah. I'd say most of them came with the most basic offerings just for a chance to vent. They didn't really want help breaking up. They didn't need it. Did it all on their little lonesome. Didn't need a youkai's tactics.

[She snorted and laughed a little on her next move.]

When they brought scissors you knew it was serious.

So you spent most of your time listening to others, just talking or maybe venting about their lives...

[He makes a move next, albeit a bit slowly.]

Didn't that get lonely?

A little... but really, they came by pretty often. People break up a lot and it was a well known bridge and town. Lot of people.

It was actually lonely in hell. [Shrug.] You get used to it after a century though.

[Izuku can't even imagine what that's like. Sure, things were awfully lonely for him growing up with so few friends to connect with, and those he did have weren't close to him as time went on...but being alone in a place like that...]

Maybe...being here is a good thing, then.

[Stick with him.]

Like- obviously not...forever, or anything. But we can actually talk to you here, you know?

I'm not 'completely' alone, but yeah. This hasn't been awful. And... with my powers not working quite right, I almost feel a little normal. Almost. [She shrugged.]

The jealousy can get bad when they're working right.

Jealousy?

[The question leaves him before he can think better of it, that it might not be something he should just be asking about outright...but he's curious. Especially when she mentioned having powers that don't work.]

Well I'm a spirit of jealousy, so there's going to be a lot of it. That's kind of a given in and of itself. It's the nature of my power, and if those are active, it makes other people more jealous around me, and tends to make me more jealous.

[mightdoriya]

Ooh...I had no idea.

[Izuku frowns a little, thoughtful...though more over their conversation now than Shogi. It may be Parsee's chance to take the upper hand, if she cares about that sort of thing.]

I wonder...how this place could take a power like that away. It seems more like a feeling than an ability...

That's the thing. I don't think it's actually been taken away. I think it's just... suppressed. I mean, think about it.

It's like this place jut figured out wind is a thing. It probably has no clue how to handle anything weird we can do. So it hasn't figured us out yet.

If that's the case, that's encouraging. It would be similar to how Fellden handled powers...our Quirks came back slowly over time as the world acclimated to us. Maybe it will be the same here?

[bridge_princess]

That's possible... though I don't know this Fellden place. That where you're from?

[A pause...]

And it might not be entirely good. You wouldn't want mine to be on.

[mightdoriya]

It's...not where I was from originally, actually. But yes.

[He inclines his head, slightly. He'll explain further, should she ask.]

Ah, yeah...I guess not. Still though, it's something to be prepared for in case it does happen.
