[ Her gaze immediately snaps over to Akechi, and she's very quiet as he speaks. She'll hear him out, of course, and yes, he does have valid points. Unfortunately, valid points are not enough to keep Ann's mouth shut on the matter. ]

You're right, no one is going to die. And sure as hell no one is going to be throwing punches today, either. I don't care what you say, whether you think it isn't our place to get involved, you're wrong. And considering that almost everyone in this room, save for myself, has some sort of beef with Seto... if you think for a second I'm not getting involved, you're out of your mind.

[ Placing a hand on her hip, her frown deepens. ]

Why do you care about the apartments? You don't live there anymore, and it's not like there isn't plenty of space. Also, he's not coming after those places because you, nor Ren, kicked him in the balls. And I'm not defending this, either... but it's paint, and now they're both even, are they not? So, I dunno, Akechi-kun. Maybe we should all he the bigger person here, and not try to encourage some bullshit fight.

[ She turns her gaze back up to Seto now, at least. ]

We need to talk. I'm not taking no for an answer.

[She's addressing Kaiba, but that's never stopped Akechi from continuing a conversation before.]

My understanding is that the initial act of aggression was deserved. Therefore, I fail to see how inconveniencing every person here is making anything "even." If he "has beef," as you so eloquently put it, it's of his own doing, and he should reap the rewards. But as I said: I don't think anyone should interfere. Whatever mine or anyone else's problems are with Seto Kaiba, this fight? Is between them. I'll stop anyone who wants to fight Kaiba or aid Iwaizumi at this stage, as well.

[His lip curves up into a hint of a smirk as he mirrors her position, hand on his hip, but more sass in his voice than he'd ever permitted on television.]

Humans have an innate territoriality about them. Did you know that most students, when allowed to choose any seats they want, will often return to the same seat for the rest of the semester, even though they have the freedom to move? [His gaze sharpens as he gestures with his free hand in the general direction of the Merlaut.] I can't help but notice that the room he elected to destroy was the one Ren and I used to occupy.

"I'm with Akechi. Anyone that wants to stop or help either of them from fighting has to go through me, too." [Bowser's claws are now up, and he's slightly crouching into his fighting stance.] "If these two people want to fight, that's their business." [Not that this is something Bowser actually believes, he's just saying whatever makes it more likely for him to watch the chaos unfold. Or, better yet, allows him to participate in it himself.]

I have to agree with Akechi-kun, Takamaki-chan. Kaiba is constantly antagonizing Iwaizumi, as well as myself. While I don't support violence, I do see that everything has a price, and even if the consequence isn't set here, there should be one. Whether or not this is a matter of just washing the insults away, insults were given, and I'm sure you know words are more powerful than merely a little ink.

(by now, the mage stands next to the man he previously agreed with, mostly because he's worried - "he'll stop anyone who stops this fight", huh? does he realize people don't belong to themselves? of course kimihiro will tamper with it.)

Don't make tamper with this fight. Kaiba, you should apologize at once.

(did he legit just say that he could? he definitely did, and iwaizumi knows that as well. all the time he spends with kimihiro amounts to him having tremendous good luck, and just as easy as he can give it, he can take some away from others as well. at least something good had to come out of it.)

[ Turing's incoming tone was not so much aggressive as it was...cold. ] I cannot help but notice, Ms. Takamaki, that none of your words for reconciliation so far have included proposing that Kaiba should apologize for the damage he has done to the gym and its equipment. It is damage that concerns everyone who uses the gym and its facilities, as well. It has taken until now for someone to even bring up the subject of apologies.

[ They hadn't actually known Ann's last name until now, so Akechi and Kimihiro using it in context helped very much. ]

If there is any attempt at resolving this peacefully, I would think that should be the first step instead of telling the aggrieved party to let it go, yes?

[From high atop his perch, Kaiba had the advantage of getting to observe as the quibbling broke out among those gathered. Iwaizumi kept braying like a donkey, trying to goad him into joining the others on the ground floor while Akechi and Bowser took on the role of instigators, and Ann and Indigo attempted to play peacemakers. Watanuki and Turing unsurprisingly only cared about one side of the story but none of it really mattered.

What did matter is that Kaiba had made his visual statement, that he impressed it upon all those gathered that he was not someone to be trifled with or taken lightly.]

Don't make me laugh, Iwaizumi. You've never been the bigger man, why- you initiated all of this from the first belligerent words that fell from your lips. [Not that he expected anyone here to believe him, or change their opinions, but he couldn't stand seeing the other man play innocent wide-eyed kicked puppy anymore without at least contradicting it. Kaiba didn't need the others to take his side, he knew the truth of it.His truth.] .. And if you want a piece of me then why aren't you doing anything to come to me? I could have left this gymnasium at any time after the work was completed... and yet I'm still here.

[Then he debated, who else if anyone he should deign to reply to. It went without question that he was going to... mildly... pretend that he hadn't heard Ann's entreaty that they should go have a private conversation. He knew she couldn't have approved of his actions and he didn't want to address that subject with her just now..]

[To Akechi] First of all- you weren't even there the first time, and no one saw the exchange from beginning to end so you don't even know what you're talking about. Secondly, there's a very practical reason why I extended my living space in that direction and it has literally nothing to do with your boy toy. [Rolling his eyes at the lack of deductive reasoning this guy exhibited on a regular basis] Not that I feel there's any need to explain that to you.

I have literally zero interest in Heavenly Leblanc or Penguin Sniper suffice it to say... I can't see why anyone does.

There's one thing you're right about however. [Leaning heavily on the railing] This is no one's business save for myself and that loudmouth nitwit right there amidst all of you. [No one had extracted an apology on his behalf from Iwa and it wouldn't have mattered if they had. A line was crossed, and he was finishing it. ~~Surprisingly there was no mention of just how childish this all was- cough- even if Indigo made a valid point~~]

Fighting is ridiculous, and yeah, you're right. An apology is owed. But it goes both ways, doesn't it? Not just Seto. Also, way to encourage them to fight, you guys. Mob mentality much? Everyone needs to knock it the fu-- [ 'the fuck off' gets cut off because Seto is speaking finally, and her eyes widen a fraction before she growls and stomps her foot against the ground, small hands balling into fists. ]

Seto, no! Isn't this enough already? He kicked you, you screwed up the gym, can't that be the end of it? Can't you both just apologize and move forward at this point??

[ Her shoulders drop, because she already knows the answer, and she knows she won't like it. She doesn't want anyone getting hurt over this, but she knows Seto well enough by now to know he's not going to back down, and with how angry Iwa is... he probably won't this time, either. ]

[Ok, maybe even Seto realized he should address his girlfriend caught in the middle of all this. It was one thing to place his own safety on the line and another to jeopardize hers. Let's face it, he didn't trust these losers to remain neutral and they might go for any dissenter, even if he found it unlikely they would target Ann. Cool blue eyes looking to her he added the following.]

It is enough for me, but I doubt Iwaizumi would agree with that and I have no intention of apologizing to him. I don't have any regrets for my actions, so the words would be hollow and forced.

[Truth drop right there]

If you don't want to see this, you should leave. [Phrasing it this way since he didn't think he could convince her to depart on behalf of her own safety. She could be remarkably stubborn..]

[ Despite a few others saying they wouldn't allow anyone else to interfere if a fight were to take place, she has her doubts. Mostly because there's quite a few people, and the majority of them do seem to have something against Seto for whatever reason [listen, she gets it, she's seen him in action okay]. She shifts, almost nervously, her brow furrowing at his words. ]

[ Sometimes, the truth hurts. But not as much as she's imagining these two getting hurt, or worse yet, everyone and their mother trying to jump Seto at the same time. It isn't that she doesn't think him capable to handle his own, but also... ]

I won't leave you. [ He should know that by now. She's not going to leave him on his own here, just in case the worst case scenario does indeed go down. So she stares up at him, firm in her decision. If this becomes an all out thing, he's going to need at least one person on his side. ]

[He shrugs one shoulder: it's true, he wasn't there. He was dead. But also, he doesn't care if his deduction was wrong. Now there's a more pressing issue, even more so than referring to Ren as Akechi's "boy toy." Maybe in the past, he'd have had a stronger reaction, but Ren's been wearing a goddamned ring on his finger for the past month. The cat isn't exactly hiding in its bag anymore, considering Ren is a dopey, lovestruck idiot at the best of times.

As for the Merlaut, that's a conversation for another time.]

[His voice is low with warning. As much as he likes arguing and making things worse, he is trying to be better about doing it to the Phantom Thieves, and with Ann, specifically. Getting into a brawl with her isn't exactly doing better.]

This is a fight about honor. In this Void, this act is the equivalent of violating someone's home. That is more painful than any kick beneath the belt. It's not just the paint: the equipment is missing as well. The goading, the taunts, the cartoonish posturing: concession now is not equivalence, it is defeat. And that is not acceptable to anyone possessing honor. This has become a duel due to his tenfold-escalation.

[He raises his voice to make it clear he's addressing Kaiba now, in addition to Iwaizumi.]

Agreed? A one-on-one duel to settle this. Whomever loses is responsible for cleaning up the gym.

[It's true, that Seto hadn't done a stellar job of making allies in the void, and that the room was filled with those less-inclined to stay neutral on this issue, so he was as apprehensive about this remaining one on one as his girlfriend was. Still- he felt confident that he was still in control since he'd had ample time to prepare]

[This time he didn't answer her in words just his expression, eyes narrowing in disapproval. She was making this sound like a dramatic play or soap opera with her bold statement about never leaving him. Once Akechi addressed him, his expression softened and he looked to the guy]

Heh- as if I would let a third party set the terms, besides.. what would I get out of it? [Rolling his shoulders he proceeded] Though I have 0 qualms facing that neanderthal one on one.

[ Ann doesn't bother to answer Akechi right away, instead opting to keep her gaze up at Seto to try and get a good read of expression, but all she gets is a less than pleased look in return. Her frown deepens at him, and her own eyes narrow -- if she could get to him right now and grab him and shake him, she would. Fortunately for them both, she can't do that. ]

I think you're both stupid. I think you've both had your say, and need to apologize and get over it. Fighting isn't going to do any good, other than just make room for another, and another after that. There's always going to be animosity between you two, isn't there? It's going to escalate with every single thing the two of you do to one another, whether you decide to fight it out now or not.

[ She finally looks away from Seto, huffing. ]

But go on, do what you want, it's not like anyone else's opinion matters. I'm going to start cleaning this shit up.

[ The tone of her voice clearly states We're not done here, even as she goes to follow Indigo's lead to find some cleaning supplies, although she won't stray far just in case everyone does decide to jump on Seto. ]
