Renovation - Merlaut Apartments - Ota
February 7th - Apartments
You know, around the time that walls were being torn down, furniture oved around, etc... Standing in the doorway and coughing from the dust in the air, she folded her arms.]
I leave for a few days, and you try to make this place into your personal palace?
[...oh right. hello, she's back. Yeah, being normally social wasn't her skill either.]
no subject
If you're here to complain then stow it. Repairs should only take a week at most, then you can return to your boring, uneventful exist......ence?
[The latter part of his diatribe fell away into more of a question when the dust settled enough for him to really get a decent look at the girl standing there. Jaw gaping open, and his breath hitching was the most overt indication that he had actually realized she'd been absent and that he was shocked to see her. Her question helped him compose himself, some.]
Heh- you don't have to worry about that, apparently the void is as opposed to progress as you are. [What that was a reference to, exactly- he left ambiguous]
[Kaiba was no whiz at this either, so rather than saying I missed you, how have you been, is everything alright? he fired back with something else] Where the hell have you been?! [So much for trying to maintain his usual indifferent calm exterior. He hadn't given her permission to leave, or something and it was very inconsiderate of her to do so unannounced]
no subject
[She was leaning against the doorframe, arms folded while she watched him gape like a codfish on the hook for a second. So, he'd noticed her missing? Had he cared? He'd never show it if he had. He'd posture like the oaf that he... there it was. There was the posturing. Her lips quivered on the edge of a smirk.]
Hell.
[Sorry, you stepped right into that one, Kaiba. She was fighting a laugh at that reaction or how easy it was to just reply with one word. Because of course she was in hell. That's where she'd been before she came here.]
It's almost a kindness I didn't remember being here till I got back. I would have gone crazy not seeing the sky. Probably would have choked a bucket.
no subject
[ Parsee looked like she was enjoying having caught Kaiba off guard, for once looking confident as she casually supported the doorframe. Had he broken down into tears when he'd noticed she was missing, or interrogated the populace about her absence for answers? No, but that simply wasn't in keeping with the person he was, that didn't mean that he hadn't coped with it in his own way. Throwing himself into multiple projects hadn't hurt to get out his frustrations in a more productive fashion]
I really should have seen that coming...
[Giving an exasperated sigh, and he abandoned the tool in his hand to glide closer to the door. It was just easier to allow anger and frustration guide his words, then any sort of feeling of loss he might have experienced.]
So it's true then- if someone leaves here their memories vanish. [Recalling an earlier discussion on the possibilities or ramifications of departing from the void] .. Or maybe it's only because you had a round trip ticket. [Either way, he wasn't sure he wanted to forget everything, even if he did know where his duties lay] From your perspective, just how long has it been?

Taking flight - Mt Silver - Ota

Espio being Espio, it will not do to let his presence go unnoticed, so as soon as Kaiba seats himself he walks up behind him and leans against the back of the seat.]
I see you choose to sit with a flourish, and not like... I dunno. A normal person.
no subject
Gah!
[Getting to his feet, he wheeled on the other male, readying himself for an assault that didn't come. Then he has to stand there, feeling foolish as he tried to feign indifference]
Heh- it's the only way to live. A better observation is why are you in my jet?
[Adding the emphasis in such a way to highlight his possessiveness. Take off would have to wait, as risking his own life was one thing, but risking someone else's.. even if it was this odd military lizard guy... was another. A quick look at Espio had him confused over other matters as well..]
You've......... changed.
no subject
Yes. Thanks for that. I noticed.
[His initial amused smirk at Kaiba’s startled reaction quickly disappears with that observation. His self-conscious, muttered response is accompanied by the unfurling and stretching of the offending body parts, the attention drawn to the wings making him realise they were aching again. Ugh.]
Anyway, why would I not investigate the random dragon jet that’s just sitting on a mountain?
no subject
So, these weren't just additional appendages you've always had that you could have been concealing..
[Stating the obvious once more, because seriously.. how does one just sprout wings? He couldn't resist staring at the draconic features. Since when do chameleons fly? Or commandeer jets? There were so many inconsistencies with this guy and Kaiba's general world view.]
Fair. I can't really blame you for that. It's exactly what I would do even if it wasn't my property. [Because dragons.] Along those lines.. if you need proof of ownership, my branding is literally all over this machine, and I can show you the inspiration for it. [Producing a card from his deck with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon emblazoned on it.] I'm the only one with these cards in my possession, as there were only 4 produced so it's become intertwined with my company as an icon.

Nyam Cat & Other Arcade cabinets - MarketZONE - Ota

[ Ever faithful, Ann's accompanied poor Seto out on this particular outing -- she hasn't really bothered to mess with the games or machines in general, instead opting to watch him. It's not that she doesn't like video games, of course; they're fun, but she's more or less a shop until you drop girl. Retail therapy fixes everything in her book. At least now, they're taking a peek at the less functional machines. ]
Do you think they'll be an easy fix?
[ She's got faith him him, naturally -- this sort of thing is right yup his ally, after all. ]
no subject
[Said with a slight curl to his lips, as they mutually spoke unfavorably of the void and it's additions. Despite the peculiar nature of the games, the temptation to place his name on the leaderboard was high. They were the nearest equivalent to actual video games. It couldn't have been all that entertaining to watch as he'd stared with laser focus at the screens, trying to locate patterns and rely on his reflexes to make the necessary corrections in his gameplay. Not that watching him tinker with the disabled cabinet was much better]
They should be but you never can tell here.. unless the wiring is too far gone, or the circuitry is completely fried.
[Pulling one of the cabinets out from the wall, he then kneeled down to pull off a maintenance panel]
no subject
[ And her friends, but she really doesn't need to explain that out loud, because he knows how much she adores them. As he pulls down one of the cabinets, she watches him with a hum -- listen. Watching this may be boring, but it's not like watching paint dry and it's nice to see him be able to do something that he's familiar with: screwing around with technology. She drops to a crouch at his side to watch him work, but she keeps a little bit of distance, not wanting to get in his way or encroach on his space. ]
You're pretty good with this sort of thing, though. I'll bet you can figure it out.
[ Talk nerdy to her, babyyyyyyy~ Maybe even she can learn something from this endeavor. ]

Apologies. I am seeking out areas where our thoughts might be transmitted. It’s quite a recent phenomenon, and given its potential for long-distance communication, ‘twould be beneficial to learn more of it.
no subject
Oh... that. [Delaying a moment to debate feigning prior knowledge or to be upfront with the truth. Man, he hated being the last to know.]
Actually- I have no idea what you're talking about. I thought only robots were capable of that, and unless you've had some recent implants I'm not aware of I didn't think you were in that category. [Looking Exarch over for anything out of place]
no subject
You are quite right... though I feel I ought to point out that I am somewhat more technologically inclined than you might think, if not with the same technology you yourself are accustomed to.
This, I believe, relates to the flow of aether. In certain locations, it seems possible to transmit and receive messages through thought. It seemed somewhat random to begin with, yet I have found the locations share one particular commonality...
[However, he then sighs, and shakes his head.]
Unfortunately, based on my initial observations, their potential is remarkably limited.

Ie. Venti.Returning the nod because who needs more of a greeting then that, he moved over to inspect the area too.]
Notice any peculiar effects regarding... this? [I mean normally when something was glowing unnaturally without an obvious power source it was bad news and you should be wearing the appropriate equipment to be anywhere near it.. but this was the void.. so.. who knows]

Phenomena such as these have appeared in various places. In my world, such mists carry magic, and are termed ley lines. However, I cannot draw on their mana as of yet.
[ Zhongli himself is a fundamental being tied to the elements, which makes it a little strange. Perhaps the Void hasn't acquired elemental affinities yet. ]
They also seem to be able to transmit the thoughts of people.
Phase 1 - Gymnasium - Ota (Aimed at Iwa)

[It’s a low blow, far worse than anything under the belt he’d ever done. Take the one thing Iwaizumi has from home and destroy it? He feels positively murderous as he drops his gym bag on the ground and screams:]
WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, YOU BASTARD? I’LL KILL YOUR SORRY ASS!
no subject
[Honestly, this is the best thing Akechi's seen in a while. He'd, much to his own disappointment, been rather dead during Iwa's last bout with Seto Kaiba, and thus missed witnessing all the fun. He doesn't often come to practice, but oh, is he glad he did today.
Wearing another one of the borrowed gym uniforms from the underground, Akechi hoists the makeshift gym bag he'd stitched together from other assorted clothing and quirks an eyebrow.]
Well, we certainly can't let this pass without consequences.

[Iwaizumi lets out a laugh that heavily implies he is about to rip someone’s heart directly out of their chest and eat it.]
