Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories.

🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party.

🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal.

🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone:

"Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you."

"It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well."

Sounds like a good reason to me. But it'd be easier to learn more if you talk to people directly, right?

Or do you mean you came to eavesdrop, [Blue grins, like the accusation is more a tease. Even if that was what he meant, Blue thinks it's probably not much of a bad thing if the guy wants to help people. Yes, he's taking what Cole says entirely at face value.... It might be naive, but Blue thinks they're all in this situation together, so it's better to assume for the best, right?]

[If Cole isn't gonna go talking to others, Blue will try to force a conversation himself!]

[That is exactly what he came to do, thank you for noticing. It's easy enough to get him to answer questions, though.]

I've been searching, but I haven't found answers yet. [That's what everyone wants, so he's doing his best to find them.] I think this place is similar to the Fade, but I found out that no one else knows what the Fade is, so I don't think that helps.

[Look if you think Blue Oak isn't delighted by his shamelessness!!]

Hahaha! [Blue gives Cole a cheerful, friendly slap to the shoulder.] Well here's how I look at it- if people didn't wanna tell people something, they wouldn't say it! Right??

[You know, like Blue. ANYWAY, he has no idea what the 'Fade' is, but everyone seems to have their own pet theories, nothing seeming more or less likely.] Yeah, me neither, so guess not. What is it?

[He seems a little confused by the shoulder slap, but doesn't otherwise reacts. That seems like an obvious thing to him, so he's not sure why he's saying it...?? It's also something that wouldn't normally be such an obstacle for him, but that's how things are here.]

It can be changed too, shaped and shifted to mirror a memory of something real.

But this place is too real to be the Fade.

[In practice, Cole is right...... But people are, well, complicated. Maybe more complicated than he might realize, with his powers gone?]

[Blue sure has his own thoughts on that sort of thing, but that's exactly the sort of thing he doesn't share so easily, guarded as he is. Much better to only bluntly say the things that don't affect him.]

[Anyway, this 'Fade' that Cole speaks of sounds like an illusion alright, so Blue doesn't really know about anything like that. Pokémon could create them- Psychic types, and some Dark or Ghost types, too- but he'd never heard of a whole world like that. Except, maybe, the vague legends about the Distortion World..... But he wasn't so sure 'illusion' was what they referred to...]

What makes you so sure? Um, about it being more real, I mean. [He frowns, hesitating like he doesn't really want to acknowledge what he's about to say, but he does so anyway:] This place... If it's a dream, I haven't woken up from it. And I haven't gone to sleep, either, so that's why I feel like all of this... Maybe it's just... not quite real.

[He doesn't look entirely sure of what he's saying.]

Not everything about it is real. Sometimes it forgets how far away something should be, or if it should fall or not when it's not on the ground. But this place that was made, it's real enough that we can't change it again or make it become something else, not like it would in the Fade. It doesn't listen to us.

[Hope that cleared everything up for you. Furthermore,]

Where I'm from, dreaming is going to the Fade. I don't know where all of you go when you dream. Is it normally a place like this?

[Blue is ....not really sure he gets it all, but he's trying to understand- really, he is! He tries to imagine what Cole is describing- a place where the laws of physics seemingly don't obey, where reality can seemingly change in an instant. And, from what he's implying, where it can.... be changed by one's thoughts?]

[If he was honest, it sounded like some ability of a Psychic type Pokémon; like the way Trick Room altered the physics of speed, or something like that. Paintings in books about the legendary dragons of creation posited the Distortion World as a place like that, where down was up and space and time had no dominion.]

[....But Blue isn't very good at forming his own way of talking about these things, so he just kind of nods along, trying to remember it to think on later.]

Um, no, [He tries, and thinks again of how to put it. Pokémon could devour and interact with the dreams of people, but he was pretty sure it wasn't... like this.] I don't think dreams are a place, where I'm from. Um, they're actually more like a form of Psychic energy.

Some Pokémon can eat it.

[This makes much more sense. Obviously.]

[Right, of course, it all makes sense now.]

Well, they aren't just that.

[Blue scoffs, as if it were obvious!!]

It's more um-- a trait, than the main point, you know? I guess the most basic thing about it is that it's kinda just mental energy. Whether you wanna consider that something normal, or not.... It's just that Psychics can do more with it than the normal person, I guess.

[Mental energy...]

Then, you stay inside yourself, when you dream.

Ummmm. Yeah, [Blue agrees, a bit slowly, unsure if he's being messed with.]

[Did... people literally leave their bodies when they slept, where this guy comes from?? It sounds kind of cool, but also terrifying.]

Except I haven't managed to sleep at all in this place... It's starting to really weird me out, even though I don't feel that tired or distracted.

[Prepare to get that feeling a lot, not that he ever actually does it intentionally.]

I don't normally need sleep, but I don't know why no one else needs to, or can't, here.

[He doesn't have any easy parallels for that one, and Solas would be better at theorizing about things like that.]

Oh... [Blue blinks, as if wondering why that didn't occur to him (WHY WOULD IT?), and then tilts his head.] Why not? Are you a robot, too?

[Because he's met robots here!!]

[Mutual head tilting.]

[For a long few moments, it seems, they're just staring at each other, the bustle and clatter of the bar dinning around them.]

[And then Blue hums quietly, eyes lidding in thought.]

Oh, I get it. You're an alien!

--Wait, don't aliens and robots fight all the time? Hmmm....

[Sentai and scifi shows aren't real, Blue. ~~unless they get apped in~~]

What's an alien? Why do aliens and robots fight?

[Please explain.]

Why does anyone fight....? Pride, greed, misunderstanding...

[Holy shit Blue calm down]

Um, but mostly, they fight over Earth! I'm not really sure why.

Oh, but usually the Hoenn Rangers or Mega-Tyranitar jump in to stop them, so they don't succeed anyway!

[That's true. A lot of people fight for those reasons.]

[The rest is more stuff that he doesn't understand. The bridge spirit mentioned Earth. Maybe he's from where she's from?]

I don't want to fight, if I don't have to.

[So maybe he's not a robot or alien...??]

Me neither. If it's not a Pokémon battle, I'm not interested!

[Despite his ...er, aggression in that arena, that was all about something different! Real fighting- between people or aliens or robots or whatever, Blue wasn't about all that business. He's just trying to have a good time ~~and prove his self worth but shhh~~]

Hmmm, unless it's personal, maybe.... Haha, I'm not gonna sit here and pretend I never popped Red, before.

Oh, speaking of Reddy, look at that! I got you talking, didn't I? [Blue beams brightly- though it's mostly been him doing the talking as usual, right? But he's used to that; at least it wasn't totally one-sided.] I still got it!

What's your name, by the way? I'm Blue.

[At least he has some idea of what Pokemon battles are, or this would branch off into even more questions and confusion.]

[Though he's not sure what he's "still got."]

[It is honestly for the best that Cole does not know what Blue has 'got'.]

Red? He's my best friend, he's--

[Blue glances around, and spots Red, trying to hide himself away at a table across the bar. He's alone, still (other than Pikachu of course!), but he's nursing that juice Blue brought him not long ago.]

Over there, in the red cap. Another quiet one, like you. Maybe you guys should be friends!

[He looks toward the one he indicates. So that's Red.]

That's okay. I'm not here to make friends.

[From anyone else a statement like that might sound surly, but once again he's just casually stating a fact.]

I'm glad your friend is here with you.

Huh? Why not?

[The way this guy speaks..... Blue gives him the benefit of the doubt, just because he seems so bluntly harmless, that way. Normally, he'd assume, but instead he asks.]

You don't get lonely, just sittin' around here without engaging anyone yourself?

That's how it should be. But here, people can see me, and their feelings aren't clear. I have to listen to what they're saying.
