🥂 HEAVENLY BLANC VOID PARTY 🥂 Who: Everyone! What: Heavenly Blanc mingle and info exchange Where: The Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café When: "August 1"; but really, what is time Content Warnings: N/A Maybe you heard through word of mouth, or got an invite from the barista and barkeep directly, or spotted the handwritten paper invites hung up around the area, but there is a gathering happening at the Heavenly Blanc Bar and Café TODAY! So feel free to stop by, hang out, have some drinks, and share some stories. 🍺 DRINKS: Coffee will be served by Ren, and Tifa will be handling the other drinks. There's a wide variety behind the bar, ranging from alcoholic to the non-alcoholic, with delicious cocktails (yes, including virgin ones for the minors) to pick from. And before you ask - no, if you are underage, you may not have alcohol. Tifa will be very strict about it, and anyone who tries to bypass her imposed law will be subject to room temperature tapwater for the rest of the party. 🎲 GAMES: Various boardgames that came along with Le Blanc will be made available for all to play, including a Shogi board for the strategically inclined (and whoever knows how the heck to play it). Along the side wall are two pinball machines, and while they don't light up and make sounds, the mechanisms inside them still work, so they aren't completely out of the picture! Next to them, between the jukebox and the door is a dart board. Please do be mindful when throwing darts, as the light filtering into the bar through the front windows is very minimal. 🤔 INFORMATION EXCHANGE: The important part! When all are gathered inside the bar, Tifa and Ren will make a small announcement for everyone: "Now that we've all had the chance to take a look around and get our bearings, I wanna encourage everyone to exchange what you know, or what you've found. Even share it with the rest of us! Locations, ideas, theories - anything that could be useful in helping us all figure this out. We all come from different worlds, but we're stuck here, so we're in this together until we're not, yeah? Let's make friends and play nice, and most importantly, have fun today! Oh, and if you're coming and going, make sure to close the door nice and tight behind you." "It's nice to see everyone. Since we're stuck here together, let's cooperate well." ☕ OOC NOTES ☕ This is the open mingle post for the Heavenly Blanc void party! Please feel free to top-level and tag around. Hijacking is a-ok

1. nugget

[Cole only spends so much time near Heavenly Blanc and even less inside. But he knows it's a place a lot of people like to go, and when he sees the invites he decides to head that way to see if it's happening now. Maybe he can learn more about how to help people here, that way.]

[Except on the way, he ends up sidetracked when he happens across creature he has not seen before, yet seems familiar in some ways...]


[Which is how he ends up walking into the bar/cafe with one of these tucked snugly in the crook of one arm.]

[Nothing unusual to see here, folks.]

[At some point he lets the creature go meander outside in favor of focusing his attention on the people inside... or try to. Normally crowds aren't as much of an issue, but that's because he can usually move through them undetected. Now everyone can see him, and if he's not careful it's easy to get distracted by the overlapping conversations and activities (not to mention the low lighting) and accidentally bump into someone. The noise is both welcome and somewhat harrowing, as it covers up the unnatural silence but most of it blends together, making it meaningless. He can't process this the way he would their thoughts and emotions.]

[So he ends up finding a relatively unoccupied section of wall to put his back against and keep himself out of the way, fidgeting with his hands as he tries his best to listen for conversations he can focus on and try to filter out everything else.]

3. fresh air

[When it becomes a little too much to handle, he heads back outside. There are no doubt people out here as well, but at least it's more open and less dark. He moves around one side of the building for a little more seclusion... which is when he revisits a previous idea that he hasn't pursued yet. He still wouldn't be able to hear "normally," but with this many people here maybe he could listen in on some spoken conversations from up on the roof, and get a good view out of it as well? It shouldn't be too hard to climb, with all those pipes and such sticking out of it.]

[Up he goes.]

[Blue is more than used to handling the socially anxious and avoidant; his own personal wallflower had taken up residence on the other side of the bar somewhere, playing pattycake with his Pikachu or whatever; he'd gotten his nagging already. Blue would get back to him! First, he had to do his due diligence and bother the other shy boys around the bar!]

Hey, thirsty? [Blue grins brightly, breaking through the hubbub and murmur of noise in the establishment, and holding out a glass. He doesn't give any indication as to what's in it, but it sure doesn't look like water. Then again, his tray seems to have a couple different drinks to choose from on it...]

You know, it's fine to take a breather, but don't you think you'll miss out if you just sit here the whole time?

[He lifts his head a bit, a bit nonplussed by the drink being held out to him. He doesn't take it, sorry. His answer isn't a rejection so much as a literal response to his question.]

No. I don't get thirsty.

[Well, no one does in this place, but he was already like that before.]

Haha! [Blue is ...assuming that's a joke, and sets the drink down on a nearby table within Cole's reach, so that when he inevitably(!!) gets thirsty, he'll have it nearby. It's fine; Blue will take care of ya, pal.]

You know, the party! [Blue waves his hands in motion to everything around them.] The vibes, the good times!

Make some new friends, learn some new stuff.... That's what all of this is for, you know? Why'd you come if not for that, huh?

[You are expecting too much if you think he's capable of that level of humor. He doesn't tell him to take the drink back or anything, at least.]

[He's not sure what he means by vibes, but most of that isn't what he's here for, no.]

I came to listen, to learn more about the people here, so that I can find more ways to help.

Sounds like a good reason to me. But it'd be easier to learn more if you talk to people directly, right?

Or do you mean you came to eavesdrop, [Blue grins, like the accusation is more a tease. Even if that was what he meant, Blue thinks it's probably not much of a bad thing if the guy wants to help people. Yes, he's taking what Cole says entirely at face value.... It might be naive, but Blue thinks they're all in this situation together, so it's better to assume for the best, right?]

[She hadn't quite decided to come in yet. So she was hanging out outside before the event, staring around and seated near the door. She looked at that ... uh... thing. It was like someone really didn't remember what a chicken was, but she wasn't going to think too long and hard about that.]

Helping the poultry too?

[Since she's outside he pauses before reaching the doors, lingering near Parsee for the time being.]

It reminded me of something else, so I stopped to talk to it. Then it kept following me, so I decided it would be safer if I carried it.

[He's not about to shoo away such a friendly critter.]

... you know, I somehow expect to see you walking around with a whole flock of very loyal animals, your own zoo, one of these days. It's almost a funny image.

Animals don't usually like me much [Though that ... thing seemed docile enough.] So, I'm guessing there's more creatures showing up? Great.

[He tilts his head slightly.]

I like animals like these ones. It's easy for them to be happy. But it's better that they don't follow me.

[It sure seems plenty docile, and as he moves his arms some it uselessly waves its sad featherless wings and shifts to stand on his forearm instead with its... feet hands.]

I saw a new building too. This place changed again.

I don't really see why it'd be bad for it to follow you unless it starts laying eggs everywhere. That might get kind of messy.

[More buildings. No, she really shouldn't be that surprised. This place was forming around them. Wind now blew. It should have been obvious that there would be more.]

[at some point or another, Damien comes to join him in leaning against the wall, a drink in one hand. for a long moment, he just takes in the crowd, taking the occasional sip of his cocktail, and then idly, he glances over to Cole, taking to studying him, instead]

Not much for parties?

[He doesn't look at him so much as his head shifts slightly when the stranger arrives, but he doesn't say anything so he goes back to listening elsewhere- ah, now he spoke.]

I didn't come here for that. I came to listen.

Didn't we all. [or, well, he did. like Cole, he's been doing a lot of eavesdropping, albeit for less than altruistic reasons, probably] There's plenty of theories floating around as to what this is, exactly.

What's your take?

[Did they? He's pretty sure some people came here to drink and chat and play games, like people do. And of course there's the theory sharing, but-]

I'm not here for the theories either.

[He'll listen to them, but making and sharing theories isn't going to help him help anyone. He doesn't think so, at least.]

I wouldn't call it a theory. I don't know the answers, either. I think this place is like the Fade, though not entirely. But that doesn't help, since no one here knows about the Fade. I'm not used to that.

You could try explaining it to me. [he shrugs] I'm a quick study. [and he is here for the theories, among other things. the narration, meanwhile, apologizes for making you explain the Fade]

[ The dim lighting in Heavenly Blanc and their short height kept leading to problems as the party went on. It wasn't fun to feel like they were constantly getting in the way. Taking a figurative breather outside was a relief, honestly.

Then they saw Cole climbing up to the roof. Oh dear. ]

W-wait! That does not look safe!

[theforgottenboy]

[He's made it up onto one of the more level areas of pipe halfway up, where he pauses to crouch and look down at... is that a person? They did speak.]

It's okay. It won't hurt me.

[That's probably not what he meant, but details.]

That's not the point!

[ Gosh!! Turing looked up at the pipes. To climb or not to climb up after Cole, that was the question. Fire escapes were one thing, but this looked a great deal more precarious.

...Maybe they could still help from down here. ]

If you fall from that height, there's a high chance of injury! I must advise you to come down from there!

I don't want to fall. I want to get to the top.

[Cole it doesn't work like that. But he does vaguely acknowledge that they seem concerned for his well-being, as backwards as that continues to be. He glances briefly behind him at the rest of the wall he has yet to scale.]

I can't get there if I don't climb.

[ Alright. Desperate measures were clearly required here. The alternatives were to either stay down on the ground and continue with the diplomatic strategy, or just leave. Obviously, the latter option was no good, and the former clearly wasn't working. ]

If you insist on climbing, please be careful!

[ That was when Turing started (trying to) climb up after Cole. This was the only way they could help if something went wrong! ]

[ After spending a good amount of time inside listening to others and chiming in about his own familiarity with the Messiah, Yzak steps outside once he feels the more important chatter is starting to die down.

Coffee in hand, he takes a sip just as he spots someone in his peripheral round the side of the building.

Curious (nosy), he follows, just as Cole starts to climb.

Um. ]

What the hell are you doing?

[He pauses, just kind of hanging off one of the large pipes that he was in the midst of climbing as he looks over his shoulder.]

Climbing.

[I mean, he did ask.]

[coordination]

[ He did. And yet, that answer does NOT suffice! ]

No shit, I can see that!

Why are you climbing? What are you planning on doing up there?

I can see and hear better from the roof.

[At least he hopes he can, for the latter. It's not usually voices he's listening for.]

[Anyway, time to continue clambering on up these pipes.]
